| On Thursday the news broke out that Mats Sundin has been signed by the Vancouver Canucks for a one year contract. Canuck general manager Mike Gillis originally offered 10 million for a one year contract with the star scorer. But just today, Sundin’s agent, J.P. Barry stated that Sundin has accepted a 9 million dollar contract “to leave the Canucks some room to aquire another top-end player”.
So is this a show of class from the Big Swede, or is he getting his money another way, “under the table”? |

I think Mats will be to slow for game speed after sitting out so long. I think it will be later Feb. or early March before he is playing up to par. I think Vancouver could have done better with the money they are now paying him by getting a couple younger guys. Mats is making himself into a rental player with this move.

Why would anyone want to pay 9 million for him?
Did his poker playing not work out?
He should be paying Vancouver 9 million to let him play, he did nothing for T.O. so what makes anyone think he can take Vancouver to the playoffs.
I totally agree.
