Halak made a bunch of incredible saves, 53 giving Montreal a 4-1 victory in Game 6 at Bell Centre on Monday night.
Hockey Hall of Fame writer Red Fisher of the Montreal Gazette told CBCSports.ca it was one of the greatest goaltending performances he’s ever seen.
Better then:
- Patrick Roy, 44 saves, 13 in overtime, vs. New York Rangers, Game 1986.
- Roy, 40 saves vs. Los Angeles, Game 4, 1993 (the wink was directed at teammate John LeClair, not Tomas Sandstrom as often claimed).
- Jose Theodore, 32-save shutout vs. Boston, Game 7, 2004.

No way, Halak was good but he is nothing compared to Patrick!
all the Montreal goaltenders are a flash in the pan except Roy and Dryden
NOT A CHANCE IN HELL! Halak has play VERY WELL better then anyone on the team because without him the habs wouldn’t be were they are today!
HOWEVER to say he’s beat out Roy? someone had too much to drink before writting that article. Tell Halak to win 2 Stanley Cups for the Habs THEN COMPARE the two goaltenders. Roy walked in as a rookie and took the habs to the cup in his first year! shake your head Red Fisher!!!!!!
no no he never out done patrick.he was good but he never came close.
no Patrick Roy is a legend Halak is a joke
THIS SITE SUCKS!
SO DO THE HABS!
Leafs will finish higher than the Habs next year.
Thanks for trading Halak for a bag of pucks.
how can you compare a guy that a playoff game to a guy that has won three stanley cups.—-give me break
